Hear how SSM Health built a corporate HR Academy aligned to the SHRM competency model to transform their HR team into strategic business partners. Included in this session will be a general overview of SHRM certifications, guidance on how to build an internal certification program for your organization and the impact of implementing an internal program. Presenters include Danielle Spieckerman, System Leader, Talent Management at SSM Health and Pat Byrd, Manager Strategic Operations at SHRM.
Danielle Spieckerman, SHRM-SCP
Danielle has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, with expertise across multiple functional areas including: talent management, leadership & staff development, employee relations & engagement, change management, diversity & inclusion and continuous quality improvement. In her current role, Danielle serves as a strategic advisor and thought partner to executive leadership in resolving workforce challenges, building talent pipelines and driving organizational effectiveness. A SHRM advocate, Danielle has demonstrated her passion for advancing the HR profession within the community by serving in numerous volunteer leader roles throughout her career. She is a past president for HRMA and currently serves as the Eastern District Director for the Missouri State Council of SHRM. Additionally, Danielle teaches graduate courses in human resources at Webster University and serves on the Workforce Advisory Committee for the Missouri Hospital Association. Danielle holds a MA in HR Management from Webster University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.
Patricia (Pat) Byrd is an experienced HR professional with over twenty years of successful achievement in the field primarily focused in the areas of training and organizational development. She also has an extensive background in certification management and is currently responsible for temporary oversight of the SHRM certification program. Pat has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Purdue University in Indiana, and a Masters of Arts degree in Organization Development from Marymount University in Virginia. Pat has been a SHRM staff member for 2 and half years.
